Background
Guided by South Africa’s CAPS and DCAPS frameworks, our focus is on the Skills Programme Stream, which builds real-life abilities for children with severe to intellectual developmental disabilities. The programme covers communication, self-care, life skills, and vocational training.

Bringing Curriculum to Life
At Clarion House, learning happens everywhere: In class, during meals, on the playground and out in the community.
We use visual schedules, structured routines, sensory supports and calm spaces to help each learner feel safe and ready to learn. Our team collaborates closely with therapists and parents to ensure every child’s progress carries through to home life.
Individualised Developmental Plans
Each learner follows an Individualised Developmental Plan (IDP) designed around their strengths, sensory profile and communication capabilities.
The objective of the plan is to help each child improve their communication, self-care, and life skills, and to begin working on their vocational programs.
We use the TEACCH approach and align with its values in our programmes
